I drove my 2001 TD4 with a caravan the other day, all fine until the reversing.
I had to get it in between some trees so I needed to do some full locks and reversing.
I know even on it's own, full lock seems to have a resistance when driving or reversing.
Anyway, I got the caravan to where I wanted it, but... a smell as if the clutch had burnt out, smoke coming from the engine compartment.
I let it cool down a couple of hours and gave it a drive without caravan. Now it is clunk clunk clunk at the back axle.
I can drive it, but the back judders like no ones business.
What do you think the problem is?
