good morning everyone,
SO the clutch-2 piece- dual mass flywheel and concentric slave were changed in 2022 September as was master cylinder with a LUK master 4th gear was starting to be getting slightly harder to get into gear I was driving to Poole today and suddenly 3rd became awkward and a bit of a crunch going in then the lot failed/got very awkward to get into gear clutch was holding ok when in gear and pulling away it was just hard to get gears. Managed to get the car home when IParked and switched of there was a bit of a clunk which I have not heard before today also There was a bit of a whine which stopped on pushing clutch pedal which I assume was the release bearing while parked with enine running I could select all gears all be it rather stiff/clunky any pointers? surely it cannot be clutch as it holds ok and pulls away ok??

could a worn linkage between gear lever cause difficult gear change? ending up with a gear stick that moves through the gears but the car stays locked in possibly 3rd 4th or 5th when in neutral position when you let the clutch pedal up?

I assume the gear lever is moving and is in the neutral position but still engaged gear. Can you see if the selector is loving when gear lever moved, down by the battery. The gear lever operates 2 rods under the car, could be worth looking at them.

Yes clutch down engine running you can move gear stick all through gears but nought happens clutch up stays in gear stays stuck in gear

When the gear lever is moved in what would be 1st to 2nd to3rd as you look down behind Gearbox the linkage is moving selector arm from side to side. The gear stick feels like its move from 1 to 4 with 4 being hard but 5th is a no go will not go in so I think its stuck in 5th, is another box the solution?

I would say to rule out linkage, disconnect linkage and move selector on gear box to see if it changes gear. Without the engine running. Easier said than done though I imagine as bleeding the clutch is a stretch down the depths.
