like i said id fix it for a grand....no worries ****part all the way...
When I posted on here a while ago about brake pads I was told they were easy, no worries and a child could do them, well I couldnt, so in the end I needed help, once shown it looked easy.
But he won't be able to tell us if he's dead Robin......![]()

The way you trying to convince him isnt working. It needs to be modified. If it was working then there wouldnt be a zillion pages on the fred!He aint killed anyone yet, so dont treat him like he has.
Im defending the bloke because i feel hes done nothing wrong. That how ever is not the same as making mistakes.I agree the landy wotrks hard therefore should be treated to a once over on a regular basis.Perhaps people on here could suggest servicing schuedule more suited to his needs.I see places have been suggested that he could take his motor.:nospamhere: JOKE!Hes hung around which is a good thing. Now we can persuade him regular sevice intervals at decent places will result in a reduced likely hood of paying a large when he gets his MOT.Win-win.Safer motor that dont cost as much to fix cos problems have been nipped in the bud. Also a rough guide of what to check would probably be of use to him and others.I regulary use busters photo guides cos i cant go wrong.Maybe pointing him in this direction would be more productive than telling him how terrible he is.Hey, his got a landy. He uses it as it should be.It breaks same as all the rest.Hes just one of us really, inne?so using a few short words is overly complex for him to understand what else could i do to get the point over ?
i don't quite understand why your defending the bloke, and to be honest no one has had a proper "go" at him - all that most people have done is to point out that his vehicle needs more looking after
just remind yourself of what he said regarding looking after the vehicle
"Thankfully thats what an MOT is for, to identify the problems a car has, and since its a work truck and regularly tows a trailer full of fencing posts or 2 tons of ballast and goes across fields every day of its life I hardly think its a case of me not maintaining it, it just lives a hard life!"
that's not simply a case of mechanical ignorance, it's negligence and shows a total lack of common sense, he's clearly not in the same league of denseness as the likes of DK17 were but expecting the same service schedule that Mrs Goggins (who drives to church once a week) uses on her Focus to be suited to a vehicle that's used in the manner he has described is dangerous and foolhardy
the point i am trying to get across is that it needs more maintenance than it has been getting - it's very simple
I'm just glad there aren't more people like him around, or the number of road deaths would be massively higher
........ and with that comment i surrender, it's his life
