Hello,

Picked up a manual TD5 a month or so ago, and has developed a knock in this time. It sounds like the front and only happens when I am not accelerating. I've been under and checked everything one could think of.

I have replaced front diff and gearbox oil and started knocking after this. The noise is not regular, it happens on the flat as well as bumps but not regular on either. Though it might've been the front shocks so threw in the TF lift kit that came with the car (was on 2" blocks before) and the noise remains.

Going for process of elimination.

Am I right to eliminate prop shaft as its not regular?
Shocks out the door X
ball joints are all pretty much new X
New TF drag links X
Panhard bar and ARB bushes look like the only thing not changed
Could could the prop shaft be bottoming out in its travel?

If anyone's had a similar issue I'd be grateful for what solved yours!

Steering wheel has lots of play and the car pulls me over bumps and ruts in the road, have tightened the steering box twice now and am worried about over tightening now. There seems to be play just before the box.

Thanks
