realist, stay with this forum as it is the best one you will ever find.the people who post on here know their stuff believe me.the negativity is just one of the things that make L/ZONE such a great forum.oh :welcome2: by the way.;)

I hate to say it,
but,
it isn't the best one you will ever find

It is the most informative for Landrovers, and the banter can be a killer

however,
I mainly spend my time on a certain Vintage American Motorcycle site,
and, those guys send parts out worldwide to each other at no cost or just the price of shipping.
There is none of what you see regularly on here, but they do insist on a decent introduction.
It is so good that I have twice flown to the USA to meet with many of them at a gathering.
The second time I couldn't afford to go,
so they ran a fund and sent me my airfare, picked me up at the airport,
loaned me a 1960's bike to ride with some of them 400 miles to the event

They have done this each year for an unfortunate member of the forum
and regularly help members financially or drive hundreds of miles to assist

No-one ever wants paying back - their motto is "Pay it forward"
- help someone else when you can.

I figure you get out of it what you put in.

Interesting stuff on the breather, where is it located -back front, left right?
I want to see if it looks newish or maybe I will change it just to be on the safe side.

Now that is a superb forum. Sadly I can't ever see anything like that ever take off in greed infested Britain unless it was a very small local group. Stick with them & hope that spirit never changes.

It is underneath the injector harness, the red and white wires in Hippo's pics. Its black and you will not be able to tell anything from the outside. Need to remove 4 Allen screws. You will need to wear Marigolds to handle the filter!

@Mr. K.
I made an album of it. you can see it in my profile.

@ Mark2:
I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself when I came on this forum just because of the Sh*tloads when you mention you have a Freelander. Not that I give a .... , but is spoils your intruduction.
Also I'm a member of a Belgium Freelander Forum. There I made a normal introduction.

Aint I clever LOL

Never, ever in my 15 years of using the internet and forums have I come across a forum thats so negative towards new members.

But the tip (and thats all I wanted) towards searching for TD4 BMW engine did the trick.

So thank you.

not that clever or you'd have realised they were the same engine. perhaps if you'd have started your thread "help, I know nothing about freelanders" , I'd have been slightly less abrupt.

push comes to shove, you got the information you were looking for, so not all bad. maybe next time you ask a question, I'll gift wrap it and send it to you on a velvet cushion.

Really? a certain member had some serious misfortune and didn't have money for child's birthday-several of us had a whip round and made sure there would be a decent present and cake (even though I never met the person in real life).

I went and looked at a defender with swivel hub issues, all I asked for was a cup of tea for it, was offered dinner etc.

I had ecu problem with an odd system on a vehicle, certain member came and checked it with a scanner that would read it for free.

I organised a group welding gas deal and made nothing on it, various people collected and delivered them for free.

Forum members have helped rescue people they have never met.

Buster writes some really good guides and great pictures-is he sponsored for it (no)

But of course we don't do anything for anyone here:doh:

Leave your PC whining snivelling opinions at the door, arrogant people who think that everyone else should suddenly change to fit them are best not staying on LZ.

If you feel that's not good enough-**** right off realist-your mother doesn't work here.

I could (perhaps should) have quoted your earlier post about the cameraderie here. Very commendable.

I think the OP is merely a bit shocked like myself as a newbie at the full frontal responses here on LZ. Cut us all a bit of slack, or many worthwhile members may fall by the wayside along with the chaff.

Me? I'm chaff. Chaffin' good chaff. I'm stickin' around.

Too many grumpy folk like me. :)

with no sarcasm or malice, would respectfully draw the OP's attention to this thread:

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f20/welcome-all-new-members-48503.html

which is to be found in the "Introduce Yourself" section.

in particular this sentence:

"Landyzone is a different sort of Landrover site, banter and joking is the norm, but this is mixed in with a great depth of knowledge of all Landrovers."

and as for this:

Here we go again, sarcastic replies that are not called for or needed but yet again they continue.

Shame members like this let a good forum down.

My reply is in no way sarcastic. Patronising, maybe, but not sarcastic. Once again, a newb has entered the forum and taken offence at it's lively nature.

I would beg to differ that "members like this let a good forum down". Members like this have made the forum the success it is today. many many many people have been helped by this forum. sure they may have had the **** ripped out of them, but they always get the answer they are looking for. some members come once with a query, and are never seen again. many many more stay and contribute as much, if not more than they take out.

if you are of a slightly sensitive nature, may I also respectfully suggest the LRO forum, which is much more gentle and grown up.

alternatively, please take this, which should make you feel better:

I've not complained about the excellent help and advice I've received and Im most greatfull indeed, but its the not called for sarcastic little digs that **** me off and I presume other new members as well. Problem is not everyone is knowledgable in Land rover workings and the ins and outs of a Freelander hence the questions and greafull responses I've received and for that Im not complaining at all.

So why jump on someone's back is what bugs me the most.

A joke is a joke and a little banter does not hurt anyone but a line has to be drawn somewhere guys and I thought the line of excellent feedback from members here was drawn a few posts above. Why not just respond like adults, help members with positive feedback and leave it at that. There is no need at all to dig the knife in all the time and thats the last time Im commenting on this and from now on Im just a reader of threads or just a members that needs help and advice and one day pay back said advice oneday.

Regards

Owe well what a shame this forum is run, maintain and its members are all pricks, gay, pedo's and assholes.

What a real shame indeed.

Please remove me from this poor run forum now please.
