Stu, don't do what I did and leave it too late for PayPal to take action. In the end Amex sorted me out. I pay my PayPal bill with them.

After talking to PayPal this morning don't sound like they have my money and could take upto a month to get my money back.

Starting to sound like im not getting it back, the feeling I get from PayPal is they dont want to know as it was not ebay.

Going to make a claim on my card

Its bull****

If he did a refund without the funds being in his Paypal account then it will be an e-cheque which does take longer. You can't fund a refund with a debit/credit card like you do a purchase, only with direct debit which takes time.

Just got off the phone with the fella I got the diff off.
He says the day I opened the dispute PayPal took the money from his account,
He has confirmed im due a refund and this is when I got the message "pending till 19 April" on my PayPal and email.

Paypal is a PITA, take a look at PayPal Complaints, PayPal Customer Service & eBay Suspension Complaints :(

Unfortunately you have to use them to sell on eBay or I wouldn't bother.

The guy does realise he still has to OK the refund on the Paypal site doesn't he? Might be worth checking as a lot of people think the money has gone from their account and that's it whereas the reality is Paypal have just ring fenced it until the dispute is sorted.

If there was no money in his Paypal (i.e. it's now showing minus) he needs to get funds in there to pay the refund.

Hope that helps.

On sat 13 April I got a email from PayPal

ARB man has agreed to grant a 360.76 GBP refund to settle this dispute. It may take up to 5 working days for the refund amount to appearin your account. This dispute will then be closed.
With a message on my PayPal statement saying pending till 19th April 2013.

I did read it takes longer to add funds to your card, £240 was card and £120 from my PayPal balance. So you would think the £120 should be available to me

Thats not how the ****s work and you can also get away with not using paypal on ebay. Simply link up a fake account to ebay and then refuse payments via paypal, limits your customer base a bit but worth it

good news.

Are you going to moan at paypal?

Friend of mine got scammed out of an iphone5 the other week and paypal are not honouring there insurance motto/service.

Bit **** really! :(

i did put a complaint in a few days ago, not that it will make any difference.

still waiting for the £215.43 to go back on the card  but if my paypal balance has been returned cant see any problems with it going to the card.

i was telling a mate this morning about my paypal problems and he got scammed by paypal with a iphone 5, they held his money as it was a high risk item or something but never got payed and lost the phone.

i don't like banks or pay pal they think they can do what they like with your money

Yeah me mate has the by it now price accepted so the chap paid by paypal. Me mate checks his paypal account and all is clear, it said approved or summit similar.

So the scammer calls and says id like to collect. ok says me pal. the scammer comes to his hotel(he is working away) and me mate meets him in reception and hands the phone over. no problems.

Later at work he decide to put the paypal money in hos main account and paypal have froze the account and said the money has been fraudulently moved from one account to his and he cant have the money!

and now about 2 weeks on, they havent given him his money back despite advertising they will cover anyones money if they use paypal and get scammed.

Bastids!

To be fair they do say you are only covered if you send the item to the address that they tell you.
