ARB locker problem / been ripped off

Stu you know you'd be better off keeping the earlier 10 spline axle and buying ash shafts which makes the front end as strong as it ever can be relativly cheaply. 24 spline axles have weaker 32spline inner shafts at the CV ends.

I just fitted a 10 spline locker to the front of mine however its a lockright no on or off tis a very harsh auto locker Google aussie locker/lockright used alot abroad but I expect I'll be breaking shafts every decent comp now.

Yes I know that its down to cost tho, we will see what happens next month.

For now im back to open diff on the front
 
Hope you get the result quicker than I did with the rock sliders Stu lol. By the wau, they are now fitted. Plied Dev90 with tea and bacon butties. Cheers to the young one!

He has the diff back now,
refund is pending till 19 april says pay pal. He added a message in PayPal saying
"quick washout 5 degres turn on the pinion gear nut and she is 100% "

Looks like a shaft may of snapped at some point

Oh well just have to wait till end of next month for ascroft locker and ashcroft HD shafts :D
 
looks like he's just put it on there to try and fix a break but then again as you say could be anything :p wonder if thats part of the reason it sounded so **** as its holding something together thats snapped
 
Purley on the rust I'd have to rebuild it in another casing and replace the bearings. I or the my website where i sell stuff would be ashamed to sell that pile of rusty mess. The CW seems like its been fitted after its been sitting in water.

I suspect they have fitted a CWP after unless there is a rust stain on the CWP. Despite it being an expensive piece of equipment AKA ARB Locker its worthless unless actually in GWO. He'd be better off ripping it apart and cleaning the locker up and selling seperatly assuming it actually works.
 
The weld is nothing to worry about its just because there to make up the thickness to lock the end adjusters. Mechanical fix perfectly ok. I suspect the ARB has a replacement thicker lock but that mech fix would n ot put me off the rust and general mis adjustment / knackared berings would be a no sale for me. The fact that he has re adjusted the brgs and thinks its good is a sign of the pure lack of care and attention that is needed to setup diffs properly. Me a warning to stay away.

Stu the sensible and cheapest way forward is really to buy ash shafts and run a cheap second hand 24 spline 4 pin open diff until a locker comes up. Although not giving you any extra traction it'll be super strong and you can hit stuff hard and i mean really really hard without fear of anything goin twang. I give this advice after myself fitting a 10 spline front locker silly tall heavy really heavy weight 8 ply tyre and wolf hd wheel combo which means ill have to drive really really gently and even then i tho I'm going to break stuff. I had the locker kicking about so I don't mind but I like you shod have gone for ash shafts
 
Still not had my refund yet.
Message in paypal says "pending until 19 April"
Well it's now the 20th and 7 days since he refunded me and still not got a penny back

Im starting to get very ****ed off
