Hi Guys na Gals,

Anyone have a clue what these fault codes might mean? p0172, p1319, p1172. My 4.0 rangie is running like a bag of spanners and i cant figure it out, i think p0172 may mean fuel trim rich on bank 1 but i have no idea what that means or what bank 1 is, i'm starting to feel like a retard now as i can't get her running right!!!!

Thanks for any help peeps

Love you all

Dan

I'd guess that it means that the fuel mixture going through bank 1 is too rich.. I think bank 1 is one of two banks of four cylinders, one either side of the v8. ie four of eight cylinders are being fed with too much fuel...

My guess anyway...

For an EMS, anything below P1000 is generic OBDII and can be looked up on the web, anything above P1000 is manufacturer specific and by manufacturer i mean the actual ECU, not the badge on the bonnet.

In order to possibly help in any way, i therefore need to know if you are taking about pre 1999 LUCAS / Sagem GEMS or post 1999 Bosch Motronic

Thanks for your replies guys, I'm not sure what the ecu make is, I looked under the bonnet where I thought it should be and found a zavoli ecu for the LPG system. Very confused now!!!!!!

Well at least tell us what year your P38 is ;-)
Better still when you look at your engine does it have 4.0 cast in to the top intake cover at the very top of the engine.
