my partner recently hit a deer with my pride and joy. Unfortunately she locked it up and skidded into a tree sideways.
Most of the damage is localised to the drivers door wing and wheel. The wheel tore the bearing hub assembly off and out through the disc.
Needless to say abs / tc /and hc lights display on the dash.
Im good with tools and plan on re building the cv drive shaft joint bearing and abs assembly my self.
Was thinking of buying a hawkeye to re set the abs clock slabs and wabco ecm.
Does anyone Know if this is viable.
My only concern being an auto, it doesnt want to engage in drive. Although the gearbox is making the noises like its trying sounds promising. Is this down to the fact the abs ecu is storing the fault codes related to the crash or is it more likely to be a knackered auto box and torque converter?
The transfer box drive shafts and diffs all seem fine.
Although the drive shaft cv joint on the drivers wheel is knackered with the vehicle on ramps, gear box in neutral you can rotate the drive shafts easily.
Obviously the abs sensor is shot on the drivers side.
Any feed back would be much appreciated.

oh...helpful post alert!!!...

One of your halfshafts is broken. (probably the front right) - the engine will think it's driving something but it won;t be. This is why things sound promising. The lack of drive is the least of your problems as this is an easy fix!
