Hi All,
I bought my D2 with a leaking ACE block. The previous owner had disconnected the speaker for the chimes as that went off. I finally got my ACE leak free, plugged the speaker back in and low and behold it is not bonging continuously anymore.

The only thing that is not working is the ACE dash light. I have a nanocom and tried to test the dash light with that. No joy. It is my understanding that it is an LED light and is therefore unlikely to be faulty.

I wouldn't put it past the previous owner to have blacked it out but before I check that; are there any settings that could have switched the dash light off with a nanocom/hawkeye?

What settings should I check?

All advice greatly appreciated!!!

If the prvious owner took the dash out to unplug the speaker he might have blanked the light too so if you are certain that the system is set to ACE in the BCU you should check that ( BCU - Settings - Instrument pack - ACE)

Thanks Sierrafery, I will check that first before I check the clocks. It is suspicious though the light won't go on on the dash when I tests it with the nanocom.

I want to make sure it isn't a setting that has been changed.

I am delighted my ACE is not leaking anymore (I changed it to compression fittings, worked a treat)

Just want it all to work, then I can finally start at to reinstate the air suspension that has been swapped to springs.

The warning protocol is conceived as the warning light to come on if a fuse is blown/missing otherwise if one system's fuse blows you'll not get a warning for that non-working system, the self test is managed by the instrument pack then if the system is OK the warning light will be kept off by a positive feed on the earth path if you see what i mean so forget about fuses.

OK, checked the fuse before I read this. All fuses are fine but that makes perfect sense Sierraferry.

Checked with the nanocom and ACE is YES in instrument pack. So I assume that means it found it?

Most likely suspect is still the dash light, either faulty(or rather disabled) or blacked out.

Is it easy to get to? The clocks seem simple enough to remove.

You'll have to remove the PCB's cowl as to be eposed and you'll see the LED's, few screws/clips to undo and it comes apart

Here's an example of taped warnings(it was about M+S in this case

I took the clocks apart and saw straight away they were tampered with. LED light for the ACE missing.

Where can I buy these and which LED do I ask for?

That's hard to tell cos i dunno on what voltage they work eventually if you measure the voltage during the self test cos you need a bi-colour LED but they are for more voltages, also they are 2 or 3 terminal types so see on the PCB how it was connected if you can...something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bi-colour...-5-/121403707517?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 or this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultra-Bri...-Bi-Colour-Tri-Colour-UK-Seller-/231756471674 but it's important to know what type and what voltage to match with the instrument pack's output
