About 6 weeks ago I was happily driving along with the plant trailer on at about 25mph and the engine decided to stop. I thought it was the immobiliser playing up so I flicked on my bypass switch which feeds power directly to the stop solenoid (had problems with it starting previously so I installed switch). I turned the key and it started fine. Then 2-3 weeks ago it did the same as I turned right into a side road. Luckily I had enough momentum to carry me a safe distance from the junction. Flicked my switch on, wouldn't start, tried for f##kin ages. Finally fired and I went home. Then did it 2 days later, but fired up as soon as I turned the key, without touching the bypass switch. It's just done it again in kfc drivethru, was running slightly rough (I put that down to cooking oil in the tank) so I touched the throttle to bring the revs up a bit and it died. Put switch on, turned over for a while and finally fired. The first 3 times it was running straight diesel.

Help!!

Have you cleaned out the fuel sedimenter recently? If not, that would be my first port of call, then a new fuel filter.

Yes, that was my first thought too, not a lot of crud in it really. Also did a service about 2weeks before it started dying with all new filters. I thought it may be the fuel filter not sealing but it all looks ok

put a clear plastic pipe between filter anf front banjo on pump check for air while running leave it there for future checks ,sedimentor is best bypassed your filter has water drain on it anyhow
