Hi All

After sleeping on it and rereading my posts, I think I could of worded them a bit better. But thats all said now.

Two things thathave been thinking about
1. If BBS was to open the support forum to all existing owners V1 and evolution. these owners could help BBS develope the tool because they will beable to tell BBS right away what bugs do exist. Saving BBS time in fault finding.

2. As we all know once your an LR owner your always a LR owner. So todays D2 owners will be tomorrows D3/4 owners. If BBS was to give us the "warm fuzzy Feeling " now and good service I for one would look at buying his products in the future. So he could generate future customers.

Also I just had a read through the posts on the Defender forum and seen that we're not the only forum with concerns.

The Nanocom is a good tool and I hope with the support from BBS it will become a GREAT tool.

I think it will become a great tool as BBS have the means to take it to the next level if they are alowed by us the customer to do so.

I think the BBS forum thing is well gone to be honest, this thread killed that :( that said its not the end of the world we all have the nanocom.it support section which at least will get decent answers from the developers its self to forward info and bugs that need fixing.

Pete

@ fanatic, thanks for the pointer on the Nominet deal, ive contacted them and for 12 quid all was sorted :) with the domains names registered to me personally and not the LTD company as its not legally needed.

Some very good points raised, and very well articulated.

I,m looking at this thread in a very simple way.

If I was looking to buy a diagnostic tool, and did a Google search for Nanocom, then theres a good chance that this thread, ( together with many others about Nanocoms support issues ), may be in the results.

I understand that the original Nanocom has the edge on the HawkEye, but the HawkEye had good rep for support, usually, with someone on the end of the phone, and for this reason I went for the HawkEye.

Would some of the posts in threads like this be enough to turn potential Nanocom customers to other makes ?.

Del.

Certainly, I wouldn't get involved with Nanocom now, this thread and others have completely killed the product for me, and the responses by the new owners didn't help either.

There is another issue:

How many people don't 'need' a diagnostics tool, but at the price it was a discretionary purchase that was 'possible' on household/family budgets?

Once it goes out of that area on cost, the market will collapse. It has to be affordable for the average user, not the 'techy types'.

Peter

**** poor why should people have to hunt for answers, total apathy from bbs guy

Epic fail

Bit harsh Fanatic...he did write to his customers on that forum..and i quote

''i am pretty tired of hearing nothing but worry and complaint and self centered concern''

''you can shut the Feck up''

I believe he's working on his customer service skills...I mean poor him, he's taken their money and all they're worried about is themselves...bastids!

I know that when i buy a product and all support disappears my first thought is 'i hope the bloke who sold it to me is ok'...

Smacks of pure greed and as I said legacy support cost little or nothing-Pretty ****ty behavior from what I have seen.

Maybe it is because we don't all praise the ground bbs guy walks on.

Very good point !.

I may be wrong, and am happy to be corrected, but I understand the the people who make the HawkEye unit also do a more expensive " proffessional " version at a much higher price.

I kinda saw it that the HawkEye was/is a " cheap " diagnostics tool that gives the user a better idea of where to start looking should a fault occur. It also has some usefull programing capabilities, but not the reach, in this respect, that the " proffessional " units have.

I dont know how much the new Nanocom is now, but one things for sure, if it becomes too expensive, as listerdiesel says, the market for it will vanish. ( leaving the void to filled be other makes ).

Oh and Bellautos, I take it your PETE? your nominet registration is incorrectly registered as a non trading individual-they are quite clear that you can't opt out as a company and will be contacting you to rectify it
Nominet - Opt Out

It is of course important to remain accurate and tell people the whole story

I Best poke round and see if anything else needs attention as well:p

Bellautos. I've just caught up on this thread and would like to thank you for clarifying the issue of support of both the new evo and the Nanocom original. As an owner of the original and a prospective owner of the evo it does help to restore my faith in the product/brand.:)

Your welcome ratty, it was a little long winded and hard work for me as some are sceptical of statements made by my self. but at least in the end all owners know where they stand even though i spent 2 days in the office typing and on the phone when i should have been working :(

fanatic, when i was on the phone to BBS i actually offered to post here and he would post on the Defender2 forum, so he hasnt forgot to post here or does not want to i offered that i would.

Can you not just leave it now you have made your point, why keep going on ? ffs your like my wife lol never stops chatting .

The support security and clarification is restored, And to boot you have had a donation from me, you have helped Nominet out with a domain issue while poking arround probabally looking for arguments to pick and to fault others. Is it not time for a sleep ?

I recon BBS will probabally not want post here again helping members incase he is acussed of spamming again from you the unofficial forum bouncer which is a forum loss of information , your job is done me thinks have a kip your like a stuck record lol :)

I hope he is paying you well, as I said previously a simple "I hear you and there will be support for all" then explained it

Oh trust me I'm more like a piranha or a rabid dog on pursuit of a goal-your wife is a push over

Just like to have a look at who is on here, did you put your donation through as an advertising expense?

BBS GUY has shocking public relation skills, lets face it unless your buying his gear, his posts were marketing spam and product placement.

Pete

Still of the view that the whole thing is **** poor and BBS GUY not swiftly reassuring existing and future customers- only highlights egotistical, unable to deal with criticism and take valid points with good grace.

As for Broken record, upto BBS GUY to self moderate himself or I'd hope come to a deal with the admins and mods for advertising and pay for the privilege.
