Disco 2 Starting problems and cutting out

Hi I have to say, I don't really hear my pump. If I'm at the side of the motor, I will hear it start up but then it is quite quiet (other than a hum). The poor starting, in the morning, would suggest the pump is failing to get adequate fuel to the engine. Worth a check, before you start...

Disco 2 Starting problems and cutting out

I had a similar problem, it turned out to be the fuel filter. Maybe the relay tray has water in it, causing short in circuits? Possible pump failing? Good luck.

    SERENGETTI TD5 2002

Last week I bought a Serengeti TD5. I have to admit that I had never come across the "Serengeti" version of the TD5 Disco before. It looks, above chassis, like a showroom sale, the chassis has only surface rust blemishes and a few scrapes. I, honestly, cannot believe how fine it is. My...

    Cheap underseal service

Just bought a 2002 D2 TD5 Serengeti, which looks like it's come out of a showroom , other than slight surface rust on chassis. These comments are great help and my efforts, this summer, will be to protect this beauty for the future. My previous TD5 has major fabrications to be done on chassis...

    Chassis rear out rigger

If you find the rust maggot has gone further than you first thought, as in my case, see RKD Machine Shop Services Norfolk (I think). Speak to "Skip" on 07870140952 or [email protected]. I used this guy last year and got two rear chassis legs with outriggers and back plate. Superb quality...

    Rusty TD5 outriggers-help

Hey Dave Check out eBay. I was looking for two months before I got on to fit my D2. Same problem but when I put the needle gun on it, the rot worm went into the chassis and tank support. Have a good look underneath. I have ended up getting new chassis legs, chassis cross brace (at tow bracket)...

    rear chassis legs

I too had problems with both rear chassis legs, on my Disco 2 TD5 after much searching and finding the "regular" offerings on eBay etc (which are around 600mm long) I found this site- http://www.rkdmachineshopservices.co.uk/default.html Their workmanship is second to non, I Went for supply only...

    Chassis rear rail replacement.

Check out this link for a superb set of rear chassis replacement parts. Bought these for my own D2 TD5. They are longer in the leg and thicker steel than the others. More expensive, yes but do you want to be replacing them again after a few more years. Speak to "Skip" who is a great advocate...

How to re-black the plastic trims?

I'm with Deak, peanut butter (smooth obviously). Make a really good finish. Use a cheaper version, it has more oil.

Newbie help with disco 2 please

Hope you're prepared for a prolonged roller coaster ride of doom and joy. Landy ownership is a lifestyle and like having a teenager with acne. Great fun though, you have to love em.

    Disco 2 damage repair

Hi I would suggest, a visit to your nearest scrapyard or breaking disco' and ask to cut out the required section of bodywork. I have done similar on another car. Allow an extra 10mm for creation of "recessed overlap", some filling and cosmetic work/paint and your done. Hope this helps.

cheap alternative to arch extensions wanted

What about the belting that the mines used to use to help extract coal from the mines. Made from reinforced rubber. It comes in any length and around three to four feet wide. Can be cut to suit and will last longer than the 4x4. We used to make weightlifting belts out of it and resole work...

    3 amigos

Hi I replaced my TD5 (2001) Disco hub assembly a year ago. The most likely cause is that "your mechanic" hasn't reseated the sender in the back of the hub. I had the dreaded 3 Amigos and had to remove the stupid little rubber washer that seats around the sender. Use a narrow bead of good...

    Chassis rear rail replacement.

Thanks guys, all food for thought. Maybe I need to needle what I have, see where I need to cut out and go from there. Link to replacement legs great, thank you. Andy.

    Chassis rear rail replacement.

OK. That's a point I had not expected to hear. I guess I "assumed" these things are made to fit. I see the sense in keeping in place what is already there, so I will get the needle gun cracking and see exactly what is metal and what is fresh air. Great come back. Thanks a bunch. Really...
