Bet its handy not having far to drive to work, my daily is a passat its getting about double the mileage than the disco. Yeah i owe tax back till may last year and i thought about doing that but have heard of a few that couldn't get commercial tax, so think its safer pay back the couple hundred...

Maybe the steel on the side it kept burning through was slightly thinner than the other, its very easy to burn through light stuff, looking good though :) What part of sligo are you in?

Hi robb, I was in the same situation about the belt choice and from what information i gathered i should be able to buy the modified kit with the idler and tensioner and fit that no matter which is on it now, im sure someone will correct me if i've taken that up wrong, hopefully before i buy it...

I was wondering about the bottom end bearings to myself yesterday, look for scoring and play that right?. I done te manifold not long ago so hopefully its still fine after removing the stupid egr. I will add the valve guide oil seals to the list too. I will have a bit of a clean up and paint...

Morning all :) , My disco is at 182k and I am removing the engine to change my clutch and rear crank seal, while it is out i am also planning to do the following: Head gasket - leaking oil Timing belt kit Rear crank seal Core plugs I was just wondering if there is anything else...

Mine was either under the dash or behind the fold down panel on the drivers side

No bother :) ..It will save you a good bit, video's on youtube showing how to if you need it. Gotta do a load to my own as well, its all time and money, eventually though, but land rovers never seem to be "fully" finished :laugh:

Great job your doing here mate :) . Regarding the serpentine belt tensioner, you could just change the bearing yourself to save some extra money

I have a battery in mine that is under powered to the recommended and i have the same issue that you are having so i too think the battery is your cause

The towing light always flashes once on mine without a trailer on, then it constantly flashes with a trailer connected to let you know the lights are working, what your seeing is normal
