I'm Pricing up an upgrade on the Torque converter on my Td5. I am not able to do the work myself so would a price of around £1.000 - £1,100 be about right all in for this? Just asking as I know some of you have already done it. All comments welcome.

Is there not someone on here that is near to you that has a trailer you can load it on and get it there for you for the price of a bit of fuel? If I was near, I would do it for you.

If you had seen as many engines ruined with that stuff as I have, you would soon take another view. It gets that bad, that they wont even start in the middle of summer without it.

What the H*ll were you thinking of letting him use Easy Start on it!. It's about the worst thing he could have done. Once any Diesel engine has had a sniff of that crap, all it wants is more, and gets that it WILL NOT start without it. He needs sacking.

Im watching this thread with eyes open...... mine has done exactly the same. It was failing intermitently, but now is dead on the front light but ok on the other two.

What a state the map was in. Will add pics later.

Got the motor back today. New Rad, 2 new hoses, intercooler cleaned out, new silicone hoses fitted, new maf sensor, new air filter. Just got the map to clean now. That will be done tomorrow, so heres hoping we have made some improvements. Will keep you posted.
