    P38 door lock issue :/

I have checked the wiring, all seems good and still pinned out if the way. I have run a continuity test as above (DanClarke) said, and my machine beeps with button up and down, so there is a fault there. Is this a DIY fix? ie cut this more and do this click your heals and it's done, or a new...

    P38 door lock issue :/

Hi all, I know this is covered a lot but just need a couple of answers really. Had my p38 a few months and it's been fine, always had to use the key in the door to lock and unlock the drivers door (only ever worked that door) and use the fob to lock the others. Fine, untill my fob wouldn't...

Diesel smell and patch on floor post service

Maybe couldn't get a good enough grip on the filter with their teeth Probably missed an o ring or didn't realise the seal didn't come off with the last filter. To be sure I would park the truck after a run and shove a big piece of card under it which will indicate the area it's coming from...

    Transfer box seal

Hi all, Have done a search but not a lot came up I needed. I need to change the front transfer box seal (linking to front prop) I understand the jist of it; -Prop off -big nut off -flange out -seal out then back together. How much oil should I expect to get in my face? I have an oil seal but...

    Front prop shaft

So, after the hole in the gearbox saga, I have come to change one of my UJ on the front prop. Took prop off today and found 2 of the cups had no bearing pins in and pretty much fell apart in my hand, so new one in and a contact of mine was adamant that the sliding joint sat at the diff end...

To big for a drain hole?

Previous owner had it done, receipt in the land rover wallet confirms what had been done, specifically 'removal and refit gearbox assembly Labour £300'. The part replaced was only £1.90!!!

To big for a drain hole?

Cut it out to get to the fork that disengages the clutch. Save time taking box out but still charge for thinking about it!

To big for a drain hole?

Checked chassis but can't say that checking holes in gearbox comes into my inspection list. Rest of the truck is in really good condition, genuinely looks like it's been looked after. Has been cut with an angle grider, can see the mark just to the right of the hole.

To big for a drain hole?

Only had it 2 weeks, but have a receipt in paperwork from December from a 'land rover specialist' but for all I know for some reason it could have been done after :(

To big for a drain hole?

Undersealing my range rover and got a surprise. Me thinks the garage that charged £300 Labour to replace the pins on the clutch arm may have taken a small shortcut :/

    P38 diesel struggling uphill

Yes, the box is marked synergy 4. Have unplugged it and put it to standard and I seem to have a steady amount of power up the revs, don't get the randomly placed power kicking in. Will try it like this and see if it's better, have checked pipework and all looks nice and solid. :)

    P38 diesel struggling uphill

Hi all, I have just bought a 1999 p38 2.5 dse. Drives lovely but concerned about a couple of things. When I get to a steep hill it really struggles (unless I'm on a normal a road) I have a hill by me with a 180 degree corner, and when I get to the corner I have to get into first gear and ride...

The guide is perfect, I think I ticked all the boxes, I know a hell of a lot of lights light up then go out, don't remember seeing any blank spaces that may suggest there covered, I know it's been converted to springs and has a lot of history as well, if the odometer can be changed to and from...

Hi, just bought myself a great freelander, with new tyres new MOT and tax, new ird and vcu, done the hard steering forward and reverse and its free as a bird :) My question is, how long do the front wheels have to spin before the rear wheels are engaged? do you just stick power down and wait...
