vcu system

Hi, just bought myself a great freelander, with new tyres new MOT and tax, new ird and vcu, done the hard steering forward and reverse and its free as a bird

My question is, how long do the front wheels have to spin before the rear wheels are engaged? do you just stick power down and wait, or drop the revs and wait?

It's virtually instantaneous - you shouldn't be aware of hardly any wheel-spin at all.

My V6 will squeak the front tyres on a fast getaway but the fronts probably only spin half a turn at most. The vcu is fast as Singvogel said

If a green Lane needs a defender to negotiate it then as far as I'm concerned it should be left un-driven

There is enough anti 4x4 stuff branded about without tratterers trashing more green lanes! !
