I am more used to seeing holes like that cut out of a RRC more than a P38. Chassis seems like it’s got good dose of surface rust probably caught in time, not sure about the notchy/crumbly bit

Treated her to a solar charger to keep the battery topped up till I finish fixing her. Hopefully it will work.
3D printed some bits to tidy everything up. Instructions said to put a bulb across the load but I don't think it needs it.

That's a complicated charge controller, what size is the panel? It looks like a 20 watt job which is what I use.

Yes 20 watt. Don't know anything about controllers but the reviews said this should be fine.

I went for a cheaper, simpler one with less to go wrong as I needed 6 of them.

Looks much like one of the DVM's I have. Good bit of kit.
£9.99 from China. Ok but started losing pixels after a few months. 12v could be 12000v..lucky dip.!

Not the same as mine then but a look alike. Had mine for years with no problem apart from a broken test lead.
Guess it's 'gets what you pay for'..
