Range Rover vogue stuck in low range UPDATE

My 56 plate Range Rover Vogue stuck is in low range. Bought new switch not solved it, friend has got under it today and taken apart = a motor in the transfer box has gone (waiting for conformation of what motor). It won’t go into gear now and I need it at least moving to get to work tomorrow. Any tips?

No public transport links live in the middle of no where

Its a nearly 18 year old vehicle, with other fuses blown that you've just bought.....Needs to be diagnosed properly as they are complex beasts and just removing switches etc can introduce more problems. That means following useful direction from here or using a competent mechanic familiar with the vehicle, which is sometimes hard to find.
