What did you do with your Range Rover today

I got creative and made a wind proof spray booth in the back of my van. Also had to decide how to solve the I need x2 more cans of paint to finish all the wheels it's taken x2 cans per wheel inside and outside soooooo have gone 2 tone.
Satin black for the inside of the wheel rim then the bavarian grey on the outside. You cant even notice the inside is done in cheap satin black which I have to have plenty of.

Went out to it today, lokking around i though AHH no water ingress!!

Until i lifted the carpet, soaking wet, wánking thing.. :confused::mad:

Inspiration gents before i torch the bastard?

Oh and i had to get food and pharmaceutical supplies today, so i thought ahh i'll take the P38, out i go..
Half way there in the píssing rain the wiper comes off its spindle and tangles up with the other..

**** me...

Anyway i pull in to a carpark and fix it..

Once fixed the sun comes out and it stops raining!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Made it to the shops..

Fat bitch can't even fit in normal parking spaces...

No pics for once.
Both front struts changed old ones look 17year old :eek:
90mins work.
Nothing snapped nothing broke everything undid easy drives straight nothing knocking or banging.
Plugged in and faults reset boom shes alive again got whole motor scanned just a fault for the heated passenger mirror.
Happy lad this evening.
 
This is the front bag that was holding air.
Both legs came from landrover so will probably outlive the time I have this motor.

Been for first spin with the dog since before lockdown.
Derv is £1.099 here. £25 in still nowhere near half tank :oops: was down though.

Brakes are lot better and not binding, picks up without so much noise and hasn’t cut out with holes in the pump (yet), seems to boost after 2200rpm more willingly. no noticeable extra noise from cutting a hole in the floor.
So nice to finally have windows down with nothing flapping about and roof panel has cured a peach colour much brighter :)

2 new problems - back to hunting for a rev slightly when returning to idle, the lost wheel weight from calliper pin snapping is apparent after 50mph :(

Check hoses for loose clamps. Air in fuel line or of you put in a one-way valve, over-tightened jubilee clip restricting flow. Air filter?

I have overlooked airfilter, not checked in long while, thanks.


Once the rain passes now it should remain fairly dry until November. The moisture in there now will only serve to buff up the gleaming paintwork of the floor pans as it dries out through May :)

Tempted to gut the interior and get someone to hold a hose to it while i watch it full up like a fish tank ;)
 
P38, would not consider L322 First picture looking up to the x member that the airspring sits in ,the circular object is the bump stop location. second picture looking from inside rear wing out above the same x member. just cut the rot out and have made infill panels to repair,just waiting for the weather to calm a little. all that stems from the failure to connect the sunroof drain properly. the furtheracross the x member you go the less corrosion.
 
Never seen a P38 with that much rot in it..

Mine is a Pembroke/camrose seaside yacht tow car and it doesn't have any rot in it!!!

I'll be checking my sunroof channels when I do mine. Do you think it's been doing that for a while? :eek:
 
the carpet was like a swimming pool and once it breached the floor to inner wing seal, it simply drips constantly on to that joint. there is a hole in the joint to be repaired on the x member but I simply cut away the rot and will re drill the drain hole after
