TD5 is it scrap

went to take the 99 TD5 to the mot stopped for fuel and then the imobiliser kicked in and the key turned but the engine wouldnt turn over or start it .... got the alarm eventually turned of with the key in the door buttons on key lighting up but not doing anything but landy wont turn over or start ..... someone said that this is hard to fix and the jeep may have to be scrapped .... oh no ..... can the mobilizer be bypassed or reset ... i dont have the security card number ... prefer to do away with it if possible ... anyone this trouble or solutions

its a landrover discovery .... key fob is lighting up the red light .... and you would have trouble towing it away when im in Northern Ireland and you get £550 dead weight from the breaker towing it in ... anyone got a sensible answer or solution to the problem i am sure i am not alone on this trouble

Get someone with the Testbook software to read the ECU - they can tell you what faults are recorded plus the security code is logged in the ECU. There's some procedure that allows you to overide the immobiliser if you lock/unlock door in the right sequence

Was it raining at the time?

Use a jump lead and go from battery live to starter motor live !! To test starter motor !! Simple things first !!!

+1 on jumping th starter motor,to see if it goes,does the solenoid click?as these cause problems ,cheap easy fix.

Fuse 20 fixed the problem for me
