hi mates ..having problem to start the engine..after a day checkin on net...i can finally say now its the immobiliser problem. ive read one of the thread here..http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/f8...mobiliser-bypass-easy-way-57839.html...saying that an easy way to bypass is to connect a wire from ignition key to fuel solenoid.

ive checked the fuel solenoid has 3 wires ,...so which wire should i connect it to ignitionkey (white)?

stranded at home from morning till now...please anybody help me out..really apreciate it..thanks..:(

You'll have problems doing it that way if yours has EDC.
The only way I can bypass immobilser is to use EKA security code which is specific to your disco. It's entered by a series of locking/unlocking in drivers door - detailed in car manual

by the way,is my landy immobilised when its just couldnt start but got crank, got lights on dash, other lights can be switch on..but just couldnt start it?? any ideas mates...still stranded at home since this morning...my lady going nuts..?

another thing which i did prior to this incident....i guess my bad was yesterday nite i open up the engine hood locker screws(the two screws at front of radiator ) because its very hard/stiff to open up the hood. So i tot maybe i can service a bit..but to no avail...i just open try to fix it but couldnt and tighten up the screws back as what at it is before....thats it.

this morning, the engine cannot be started totally...is this got to do something to with my doings yesterday mates..??

thanks Graham, so my only option is to get the codes rite?? the problem is i dont have any codes..when i bought the car (third hand)nobody mention abt it. So is there a place to get these codes ..i duno where or who is the first owner and i dont have any manuals either...??

U have to go to a main LR dealer with the ownership papers for your car and they'll tell u the EKA code.......input procedure in rave

thanks sierra....anyhow is my landy really immobilised when it just couldnt start...the lights at dash, head, side can be switched on..?? just couldnt start....

if its truly immobilised then is there a way to bypass it..its a 300tdi auto?? thanks mate

i dunno where to get hold of the main dealer of LR in this part of world mmm...

i-m not he best in 300tdi-s but as far as i know.... yes if its immobilised u just cant start it and everything else is working cos the immobiliser is cutting out the fuel....though i think u must see a flashing red LED on dash in this case even with the car unlocked.

a Hawkeye scanner would be of great help to see ... 10AS security fitted on disco 1 has 4 variants of immobilisation covered by Hawkeye: GEMS, Spider, EDC or DDS .....dont ask me how these work or what it means:eek:

Yup, it'll turn over but won't fuel. As sierra says look for flashing red key on dash, if you got one then it's immobilised.
You could crack open each of the fuel lines from the injectors and see if it spews out diesel

ive checked just..theres no flashing red lite on dash and it does spews diesel from the injectors mate ...mmm:confused:

A bit different if a diesel will turn over, when a V8 is immobilised, if it's not started directly within 30 seconds after unlocking it won't crank and the red lamp and car symbol will stay on untill the fob is placed near the ignition switch.

Are you sure u have an imobiliser if you don't have a uk spec disco you may no have one fitted. So then you are looking at why doesn't my diesel start... that I can'tt help you with.

Are you sure you're not looking at the EGR connector?

If you are looking at 3 wires on the fuel stop solenoid then yer looking at a DDS unit. They CAN be bypassed.

If it's a '96 auto then it will have EDC (electronic diesel control) and the immobiliser function is built-into the ECU.

If you have fuel and an effective starter motor with enough battery power it should start, but doesn't. If you have fuel at the injectors it's not the immobiliser.

So, why won't a TDi 300 auto EDC not start? The first thing is to ensure that you have enough engine cranking - have you tried another battery and jump leads?

thanks all for the kind response...i dunno which is which..so ive taken some pics for verification...if can be bypassed ..how can it be done ..which one of 3 to connect to ignition mates..??
by the way, after calling a mechanic who never seen a landy engine..but anyway hes sure its not EDC pump...but only got auto gear box..??..so in that case then sure can bypass rite mates..??

plus, only after checkin other mates thread.. now i realise that it has throttle cable not wires..so now surely its a non edc pump rite mates..but its auto gearbox...

any ideas ?

its auto model mates but non edc. After futher investigation by 2 mechanics, it lead to fuel/exhaust blockage mates...its wouldnt start up coz of blockage inside the cylinder or the exhaust valve according to them...how could this happen...

it took a jumper with extra battery plus the man pour in some petrol inside air filter hose toward the turbo several times to start it up again...and it started with a roar i never heard off!! plus the thickk lots of black smoke ..

but anyway now its running....maybe got to blow soot ..???
finally its back alive!..thanks a lot mates for all the help...

cheers
