The inlet manifolds are plastic welded together so separiting is a no no....
The best thing to do to loosen the carbon would be to soak over night in some sort of solvent based cleaning solution, nothing to harsh as you don't want to melt the plastic. parafin or white spirit would do the trick...

Hi guy's, I have yet another fault with the infamous tailgate on my freelander....
This time the tailgate glass seem's to have a mind of its own dropping whenever it feels like.
The only ongoing pattern seem's to be when i come to lock the vehicle it will occasionally drop the tailgate glass...

other than exterior and exterior ergonomic's the mechanical working's are exactly the same from 1998-2006.... In the td4 the early 2.0l diesel was replaced in 2000 (I believe) by the m47 BMW engine which in my opinion is a much better choice, but people will disagree I'm sure! do your research...

Hi guy's been clearing the garage out and came across a spare IRD that I removed off a scrapper I had a while back. Not been road tested but there appears to be very little backlash when bench tested....
Gotta be worth a couple a quid if any one's interested??

Does sound like all the common symptoms of hgf..... Just because it's had it replaced previously doesn't mean its bullet proof, after all it is a k series. might be worth buying a test kit just to make certain???
