Muds are good on soft deep snow but on compacted snow or ice they're terrible due to the low frictional area on flat hard surfaces.

ATs are a better choice for all year traction. ;)

:welcome2: My opinion... get a set of all terain tyres that have M (mud) and S (snow) ratings... Goodridge or General Grabber A/T2 spring to mind. I had General Grabber on my 90 last winter and they didn't put a foot wrong. They are good alrounders but not exceptional at anything.... hence they are called 'all terain' :)

I now have a 110 with Runway Enduro A/T (265/75/r16) fitted. They came with it so I am sticking with them... They are quiet, okay in wet, good on dry get okay reviews and are rated M + S (mud and snow)... cheap and cheerfull cost me less than £70 for a spare. Not tried them this winter but I am confident they will be just fine.

Got the exact same on mine, bought them brand new a couple of months ago on black modulars - very happy with them, especially considering the price.

I run Pirelli ice & Snow Tyres for the Winter, they're prety much unstoppable.

Forget Mud tyres on hard pack snow and ice.

Winter Tyres have a high silica content so the rubber stays supple at below 7C, plus they have sipes to allow the tread blocks to move and generate heat.

I have Cooper STT on mine, M+S, and they seem very good, they came new on the LR when I purchased it second hand from a LR main dealer and it had been owned by LR from new and apparently it is what they choose to put on, I am very happy with them.

Any one else got an opinion on these?

My point is this, people use this forum to ask opinions and research products they may wish to add to their Land Rover, constructive and helpful feedback is what we are looking for. Which some users are ready and willing to give.

The problem is that some knobheads like you find humour and satisfaction in posting pathetic useless replies like the one that I highlighted.

That is all.

Go and change your Tampax - it might make you feel better.

That is all.
