Wing mirrors not folding in

We have a 2004 L322 Vogue a when we try and fold the wing mirrors in (i.e. park them)(we have a narrow driveway) they fold back and then ‘bounce’ open again. Any ideas what the problem is and how it may be corrected?
The ‘angle down on reverse’ on the nearside mirror works ok btw.
Any advice would be appreciated.

could you fold them in manually then it may reset the micro switch in them so they can remember open and shut locations?

hey doug you missed the obvious,move house to one with a wider drive

Try pushing the button twice in succession with about 2-3 seconds gap. That should do it. or fold in and do the same. this should re-set it. If no luck, go look on fullfatrr.com and do a search.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have the same problem, I press the button they fold in then bounce back out again

Mine do too....I think it is a maladjusted Microswitch...but I have never bothered with them TBH....

Mine do it more often than not but they do sometimes fold in. I've checked the switch inside the mirrors and the little metal arm is still in place and I've blown the cobwebs off but still no joy.
I would like to fix it if anyone has anything they could add.
