Why you asking them for help? They ain't been on here in 5 years. Make a post, get help.
Hi Doug. You recently helped me out with my BeCM (Iain from Mansfield) wondered if I could pick your brain on aanother subject. The car runs very slow on idle i.e. under 500RPM. When driven there is a loud air popping noise and when pressing accelerator there is a severe lack of power. Feels as though too much air. I have replaced the MAF and no difference. Any ideas?

    Regards

    Iain
    Hi Doug,

I'm new to the forum &noticed you are well regarded for advice - I wonder if you could help.

    I have a 1995 P38 4.0

I used the car on Monday but left the tailgate open for a few hours, the next time I came to use it the engine wouldn't turn over when trying to start.

I put it on charge for 2 days. A few times during charging the alarm activated.

I've bought a brand new battery, turn the key to pos 3 no response. I've checked the starter moter, it turns given power directly, and also the engine will turn when the solenoid &starter are given power directly.

Even tried the key in pos 2 ( normal running ) and jumped the starter to turn the engine but it will not fire. There is fuel in the rail.

The key activates / de-activates the central locking, I've reset the key-fob when replacing the battery and done the EKA procedure. A friend also had the RR diagnostic on his PC, plugged it in and no errors or apparent code issues.

I've also replaced the key fob batteries.
Thanks Doug 4 getting back 2 me! I'm in U.S. Pennsylvania. Don't think I'm close, LOL. But any info you think can help me out would be great! Cuz i have a nice looking truck that wont start!! Thanks for your time, Gary
