ooooh arrrrrghhh somerset
ive just got myself a shiney new tubular bumper for my 300tdi disco! so my bullbar isn't needed and my old man is interested in fitting it onto his disco which is still a 300tdi but its an es model. can the bullbar be safely fitted as he has airbags??

It'll make no difference, the air bag is for internal passengers, the roo bar is to clear kangaroo's from the road at night so that the vehicle is not disabled in the outback.
so if safety is your main issue fit the air bags on the roo bar so that you don't mangle pedestrians

There were a few reports way back when the tubed bars from the 200 were fitted to new 300 series NAS vehicles with air bags that some failed to deploy in an accident so LR started fitting only the 'plastic ones' to the 300's when asked, and tubes were not an option for the D2.
Tubed bars are a throw back to the RRC days

thanks for the replies. I would personally fit it as im sure it wouldn't affect the airbag but my old man is worried it'll delay deploying the airbags. The reason he wants it is because his neighbours love using his disco as a gauge to how tight the space is!lol is there any legal issues fitting it? Like i said it was standard on my 300tdi.

The best that go together.

Take that, you sweet thing!

Life is too short to be serious, laugh it up.

and tubes were not an option for the D2.

My A bar is tubular, geniune Land Rover at that. They did 4 tube types for the D2.

If its a "genuine" bar, then its approved to fit vehicles with Airbags. Bull bars dont really affect the operation of the airbag anyway, its the crash sensors that "detect" the force of deceleration and deploys the bag, not how much you "crush" the front end in.

I must have missed that page in your disco 2 genuine accessories pdf.
what page are they on?

Fitting bull bars to a vehicle is illegal.
The onlyones left allowed are those that were fitted at the factory. If you fit them you will void your insurance.
Buy a rangerover classic and put the 300tdi in that then you can have bullbars if you buy it with thyem fitted however if removed you are not allowed to refit.

The choice is yours.Personally i would wack em on and tell the insurance company you forgot to add them to the original details and a mate told you to tell the insurance company.

I have read your topic. What's useful innformation for my job.
I do agree with you. Those are the most effective way
have a blessed day
