Hi Guys, need some help
decided to change my td5 clutch, found out gearbox had problems so sent away to get recon'd
only problem is that i forgot which clutch plate went, no markings on valeo clutch, so the question is Does the sticky out bit of the clutch plate go to engine or gearbox end. Main dealer cannot help, or local landie specialist as they have not done 1 in ages

Thanks

It should be stamped into the metal, I cannot actually remember I just look for the stamping, I guess it's not something you do that often.

The sticky out bit probably ought to go to the gearbox side thinking about it.

The greater projection of the centre hub on the clutch friction disc must be towards the flywheel. Both RAVE and Haynes state this and it is generally how most clutch plates are installed. As already stated some of them have a stamp indicating the flywheel side. The old OEM disc I took out has the stamp so have a closer look. Mine is stamped FW.
