I couldn't help notice how easily you Freelander V6 coped with the axle twister, you even stopped for a photo opertunity ;) what did surprise me was how easy to tratters got stuck!

Nothing like a mistaken Freelanderer! No pigs in my landy.
No pigs. What's the stench then? :p

It's either fantastic driving or a fantastic Freelander. Could be both. :D

Traction control helps loads by pulse braking spinning wheels to allow power to wheels with grip, rather than wheels without grip or in the air. The vcu would also lock up and power the rear wheels so drive is available to all wheels if needed. Add in the light weight of the Freelander with soft-ish suspension so it doesn't bounce oft the twister as it rocks from side to side, and you have a winning combination. :D

Don't know why I'm telling yer this. Yer got one of yer own. :)

With Freelanders being so crap (that's what most non Freelander owners say), it does make yer wonder how it can drive itself out of this. Could be magic?

I do as you know have my own which just happens to be exactly the same as yours :) Off road it's pretty good especially when a wheel is in the air. The vcu does a better job than a locked diff in some situations as it sends the power to the rear but allows bit of slip between the axles, this keeps the tyres from skipping as would happen with a locked center diff. The TC does what it's supposed to acting on all 4 wheels simultaneously if needed. In all they ain't to bad when it matters.

But if we was all nice to each other (and to Freelanders) this forum would be boring like the other Landy ones :rolleyes:

And my pig does not smell bad :p:p

You disco must be the exception? As would a rusty 8 yo Freelander ;)

190. Still out pulls much younger engines easily. Please feel free to attend a laning trip and show me why thousands of expedition drivers are wrong in buying real 4x4s when what they should be driving is a freelander.

We are going laning tomorrow, wonder how many Freelanders are coming :D:D:D

In fact I have never seen a Freelander on the trips, suppose they must meet in secret, too ashamed to bring them out in public :p;)

Have you found where your wading plugs go yet?

Don't know about the trip tomorrow, but you made it quite clear that freelanders weren't welcome on the Dales weekend.

So please tell me why I would want to go laning with you?

I think too many Freelander owners would be put oft by the comments on lz against Freelanders and their owners. Which is a shame but that's life. We could arrange our own meeting and you could come along as an honorary Freelanderer.

m8 do agree did plains with series and james martin great day, freelanders could have done the day as ther is always a way round the really rutted stuff. I followed series in a gung ho fashion, nearly getting unstuck. But that was my choice. Td5 disco standard road tyres. Even james give me the you sure face a few time but at least mine did not leak oil. James did you ever find that leak ;)
