guys,
i am looking to get some of the blue high visibilty bulbs for my 1997 4.6 hse and they guy said what bulb reference. i think he H4 or H7 or something similiar to that. does that makes sense? if so which ones should i get to replace the main beam and the high beam? thanks again

oh right i did not know that. what about the bright white ones as opposed to the bright blue ones? i dont mean the boy racer led type ones but the ones that give the brightness like all the modern new cars.

i have headlight washers / wipers on mine. could i get the blue ones or just get the white? dont want to get in trouble with the law. HIDS are what i have been told they are. Still need to know which H type to get. ideas?

Not an issue if you got wash wipe already.Hids are high intensity diodes(i think but i wouldnt listen to me!), ie brillant white light. They are not blue, cos you would get nicked for that.Done a bit of a search and looks like HIDs re bi-xeons any way. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/h-i-d-s-51150.html

It's H4's you need.

Also, think seriously before you get the high visibility ones. Don't forget that your headlights are higher off the ground than normal cars and will therefore blind a lot of people, coming towards you and driving in front of you. I agree with what Sirus said on the HID thread. I get plenty of light from my lights already, and why waste over £150 for ones that are just brighter? £7.39 from halfords to replace, job done.

I found both bulbs are H4's on my P38a and both twin filament bulbs are used, the second reflector only using the main beam filament so on main beam you have 4 x 60 watts running and 2 x 55watts on dip. This means you only need to carry 1 H4 spare. I fitted + 30% brighter xenon bulbs in the main and dip lamp, so you can see better on dip beam as they're not too bright so as to dazzle on-coming traffic. H7 bulbs have a smaller flange and were fitted to my TD5 Discovery. I hope that is useful!
