Yea but your sitting in it wont help (it will stay on if its detecting your body heat that's why if you take the key out it wont lock and its within range of the key as well) have a look through the front window
 
Battery drain can be RF receiver, headlamp wipers not stopping in the correct position, underbonnet fuse box or alternator. Badly fitted HID's can also play havoc, they ought to be banned. Just because your RF receiver is new doesn't mean it is not the source of the problem.

You may not have waited long enough.If you sit still the ultrasonic sensor should not pick up movement.Too my knowledge there is no infrared detector to register heat.I am not sure if on models with the fob sensor around the ignition switch will be afftected by the presence of the keyfob,so best to leave that out the vehicle.
I see you also have other electrical issues as well.These may point to the engine bay fusebox.The addition of the hid headlights should also be examined closely as often aftermarket installations cause issues.

The BECM is the main controller and is under the drivers seat(rhd).It has numerous connectors going to other systems.Removing these one at a time will help in isolating the culprit.
Also check connections for corrosion.especially if there is any sign of dampness around the BECM.

He's not the first and certainly won't be the last 'specialist' that has found a P38 beyond his usual skill set. Whilst many issues are the norm, many are P38 'quirks' and not the usual problems they find with fiestas, astras and the like.

Its best to stick with a RR specialist or ask the pros on here, they are far more knowledgeable than your jack of all cars specialist.

Even I've had the AA man listening to me for advise on my P38 on the few occasions I've had to call them out :)
 
The problems could be caused by your BECM not going to sleep. There is a simple procedure to test if it does go to sleep:-

1. Sit in the vehicle in the drivers seat with all the doors closed.
2. Wait until the interior light switches off.
3. Switch on the ignition.
4. Switch off the ignition.
5. Open the drivers door and leave the door open for the reminder of the test.
6. Switch off the interior lights by pressing the button for 4 seconds. On the message centre you will see the message "Lights off".
7. The message centre displays "Ignition key in" for approximately 2 minutes.
8. If the display goes blank after the two minutes, then the BECM has gone to sleep, if the display is still on, then the BECM did not go to sleep.

If you put an ammeter in series with the battery you should see a current draw of 0.6 to 1 amp when the BECM is awake and only 0.05 amp when it is asleep.

If it does go asleep OK you can check it further by wakening it up by opening the bonnet and the dash should make a beep.

If it is being kept awake the most likely subject is the RF receiver.

If you're still struggling, send me your becm & i'll check it out for you.
I won't charge you anything for testing except the postage back.
Once the becm has been looked at, & if it's not the cause we will be able to give you a procedure to go through which will find where the drain is occuring.

A failing fuse box can also cause a drain. Ideally, you want to be looking for 0.02/3 on the drain. A drain of 0.05 is slightly high but acceptable if you have a quality heavy duty battery. A drain above 0.06 is unacceptable.
 
Well a very kind forum member came over today and plugged the truck in, not a BeCM problem. Looking like faulty alternator...do I have a THOR or GEMS engine in a 95. 4.0l? The bay is full of variations and I can't see any markings or numbers on the thing!..
