Hi
So I somehow managed to convince myself that I needed a good ol 4x4 in my life, one that can serve me well and be a strong and sturdy wingman for fun on the weekends out and about.
I couldn’t afford that - so I brought Freddie, a 54 plate Freelander TD4 HSE auto this weekend instead! He is dark blue (forget the name), drives well, everything seems to work, and also has been well looked after. My plan is to now give him some more tlc and see how he does.
I’m based in Kent, fairly ok with car diy, but have very little experience on LR (none)!
Been lurking on here for a week getting some tips already!

Happy that the VCU was present, along with prop shafts!. seems ok at present (not hot, and full lock turn seems free from ‘bind’ feeling).
Engine service first job, with upgraded crank filter ordered also. Dropped some injector cleaner in the tank already.
Had a Parrot system fitted… that was ‘deleted’ this morning!
Headliner needs to be reclothed, but no rush
Steering wheel ordered - seems someone had a go at mine with a brush and magnolia paint for a two-tone look!
Nice set of (cheapish) tyres all round yet to source

First question - the rubber ‘nudge bar’ that bolts on, hanging from the bonnet lip and going down over the grille etc. - looks a very faded light grey at moment. Anyone had any joy with repainting these with some form of specialist paint?
Any more tips, please feel free to share your wisdom.

More to do I’m sure, but ‘Hi’!
Darren

Hey and welcome, don't cheap out on the tyres. Everyday running I have the crossclimate 2 all around and they are fab.

Fab!! I'm looking at some spare wheels for cheekier terrains.

Its not a daily driver for me, more some fun for green landing and when out shooting - hence I’m not really fussed about ‘noise’ or ‘mpg’ on the tyres. That said, even the cheap ones ain’t ‘cheap’ when you want 5, are they!!!

Price doesn't bother me I can happily pay for quality. Mine is a daily.
