Hi Mike, Yes, I have discussed this mod with datatek.

Originally we were going to get the component from CPC. I guess He has given you the info on how to do the modification. The company is Conrad-uk.com Part no.: 615889 - 89.

I have not done the mod yet although I am considering doing it. I have already fitted a Kenlowe 17 inch electric fan but I think the extra blast from the aircon fans would be of great assistance. Mine is also a 2.5 diesel 99MY dhse.

Been talking to datatek and he tells me you know where I can get the small thermostat used to convert aircon fans for cooling radiator.

Did you convert your car?
How well does the conversion work?

I am considering converting my fans also on the p38 2.5tdi.
