in the early hours of wednesday morning my alarm went off a couple of times, around 4.30 am

went out to motor checked it over, it had gone off on the microwave sensor !
thought it was just a false alarm

half hour later it goes off again ! go out check it ! same again !

just about to go in as iam in my boxers with a bat and dog at my side a car just up the road out of site takes off at speed !

well it never false alarms normaly as its a toad cat 1 and now has me thinking !

dont think they would of noticed through the tinted windows the other sercurity devices and the fact that its got no steering wheel !

so keep a eye out, iam 5 mins from M1 J26 area
 
They payed me a visit last night and had another failed attempt at mine, again dispite other 'obvious' security measures.

Wake up now each morning with that gut wrenching feeling of : is landy still there, and is it still in one piece.
 
Bloody hell!
I would hate to be in that situation!

You'll be needing to pay an armed sentry to stag on during the silent hours next!
 
sounds like a camping event required, batter the ****ers-getting hurt is all scum understand

Appologies for not replying earlier.
I have had an Easter of hell, trying to get on top of the situation, which involves not much sleep/waitin for em till 5am/ a shed load of graft & work & cash as well as informing police etc.

In between staying up for two nights, and fitting more security stuff I have found out some more info...

My neighbour saw em on an earlier attempt (2 am). They appear to be having ago between midnight & 5am.
Basically a white transit van and a gold 4 x 4 (he aint up on the actual vehicle make).
Looks like they tried/wanted to tow me 110 out with their 4x4, hence doin what they did to try and get it.

I reckon I saw the tranny van scoping me 110 out on Friday afternoon. He were actin all suspicious, but I only realised afterwards as I didn't have any sleep the night before, and were too busy/focused on sortin me security out before they had another go.

Since then I have uprated 'everything', and don't think have I had any more visits.
Point is, I think it were destined for a container, they didn't damage 'it', but tried to nick it by towing it away.

It's got a disklok on, so a genuine thanks to Ratty for an earlier post advising me to put steering on full lock. I made sure I did that after reading advice, and it were one of things that stopped em towin it, due to way it were parked etc.

There have been times over last fews days I've thought about sellin me 110, and not having this agro, but hopefully what I have done is enough to put em off, and feck off somewhere else.

It's good to hear you still have yer landy. Just make sure you fit the security devices EVERYTIME you park up, even if it's just for 5 mins.

posibly a white transit van ! bloke over the road as let me know that theres one been snooping around.

funny cause on friday traveling just through the notts derbyshire boarder area i noticed the white transit in front of me slow right down to get a good look at a 110 on a driveway, i nearly went in to the back of it, they didnt know i was following ! after overtaking it it then followed me into the summercotes area, so made a phone call to my mate to be prepaired ie with dog and 12 gauge :cool: but it only slowed down when i turned off that road, shame was looking for some easter fun :D

any way its a white rough swb mark 3 transit, think it was a m or n reg

Don't worry man, if you come out of this with your lannie you've proved that they can't always get a lannie even if they are pro's :)

thats sommercoats :)

theres a guy in south normanton who had three attemps at his defender 90 on birchwood lane a year or so ago. after the second attempt he removed the steering wheel the third attempt they brought a pair of mole grips to grip the stub and use as a crude steering wheel. they were disturbed by the neighbours and as yet havnt tried it again.

there has been a few thefts/attempt thefts of land rovers in the south normanton area over the last year or so.

It has now been a full fortnight without any more attempts on stealing me 110, since upgrading all me security etc.

They had 3 attempts on my 110 in the 2 weeks previous to that, plus one scoping visit seen by neighbours.

The Somercotes, Selston, South Normington areas are hot spots at the moment, with a suspect swb white transit van seen lurking in all these locations. With some shifty character takin a good look at any parked up landy.
 
Decent gates seem to keep them out, plus they don't seem to be able to get past those disk padlocks for some reason.
Also I had noticed foot prints (from them) on bumper, and someone else had noticed foot prints on their bonnet too.

Would someone please enlighten me as to what they may have been trying to do by actually standing/crawling over bonnet etc, what were they trying to get at/disable ?

Each time they paid me a visit I tried to work out what they were actually trying to do in order to actually take me motor, how were they going about it, how were they trying to disable the defenses and then counteract it by some means.

For me, I think they were trying to tow it away. But they were VERY quiet.
 
You thought about getting one of them CCTV things you see advertised may be a good idea if they come back again. You can see what they little ****bags is up to and upgrade security appropriately
