Walkie talkies or cb's?

We nearly always carry both a handheld CB and a pair of PMR's.

The handheld CB has proven very usefull, for spotting and in a couple of recovery situations to syncronise snatches or winching and stuff.
Also when a newbie comes along. They can borrow it and earwig on all the banter or advice of the Trail blazer.

I carry the PMR's cos they was a bargain 20quid at Aldi (what's that compared to a tank of doozel?) they usually stay off but have been good at the pay and plays if you wanna jump out and shoot some video or stuff!

The bottom line is communication & banter, makes a good days laning better!

No yer dunt need a licence for CB any numpty can have one. we're talking about Amateur Radio or ham radio as it's sometimes called. A CB is limit to 27MHZ and 4Watts a radio Ham can use huge sections of the whole bandwidth. and upto 100Watts. But you need a licence to use ham radio.

When I used to live in the UK a CB had to have a licence, has that been stopped now?

Here you have to take your CB's reciept of purchase along with the manufacturers tech spec ect and request permission to have a CB in your car. The permission cost £75.00 GBP!

If you have a CB at home no permission is required.

Like most things in Spain if it's really important for example: having to have your motorcycle lights on after dark but never bothering then thats OK however, turn up at the MOT station without the towbar that was there at the last MOT and your car will FAIL!

Go figure!

I am sure you had to have a permit or such like for a CB in the UK, mind you I am going back a few years (vision of old man sitting in an armchair in a residential home)........................the kids today don't know their born..........I remember back in the good ol days.....when I was in the war....
