VIN manufacture date

does anyone know how to tell manufacture date and model year from the vin #? it is*SALLJGMF8MA113819* or is there a production date tag somewhere, this is a LHD model...

The above info helped my find that my '97 R Reg is a '98 spec.

Is there anyway of telling / conferming that mine is an Avimore spec trim ?

I am importing it to Tanzania and need to avoid Extra Excise Duty (Punishment20% extra) for it being 10 years old. The VIN is SALLPAMW71A458700 ENG NO 34229702. I need the EXACT date of manufacture to see if I have managed to avoid this horrible tax. Thanks.

1st post...about a range rover...in the disco section...middle of someone elses thread...gives vin number and engine number...

Please stop putting your vin number up....Its your bank sort code and account number you need to put up.....oh and your card number and last 3 digits on the back.

Date of birth and address we can find ourselves though.

card no exp date and last three digits of code on reverse no need for account no:doh:

If you stopped posting the same question all over the place and looked at the answers on the posts you've already made you might find you have been given the answer already.:doh:

In other words the build date is unavailable for the D1, although build data is available for the D2.
