Just been having some hiccups with one of the Range Rovers.

I found the website below to be useful, and thought others who have the V8 EFi hotwire fuel system might find it useful too;

...good stuff. Hopefully then it will be easier to find in the forum search at a later date with the help of the words like efi hotwire n v8 in the title, rather than keywords like 'V8 broken', which tends to throw up far too many results! LOL

Should mention too about the MAF 300 ohm approx resistance 'start set point' across the far left and far right terminals, just in case someone on here buys a new MAF n hasn't got CO analysiser n needs an approx to get it started and running to get it down to a local garage.

...and mention anything else that might help, that's not in the website content above.

Just a few points which was missed of on the web site
1 the ecu has a fault code memory which can be read.
2 the correct setting of the 300 ohs setting is for giving a co% of 1-1.5 at idle trying to set richer will not effect the running though the rev range as it is ecu controlled due to throttle position rev range and Afm reading coolant temp

Incidentally, I've just bought a 14CUX fault code reader;
14CUX ECU fault code reader TVR Range Rover Land V8 | eBay UK
Kinda hoping it will help avoid some of the guesswork out of potential future problems.
Its not arrived yet. Probably should have asked before buying, but anyone any experience of these ones?? any good? it seemed almost too cheaply priced ?!

Well. code reader worked a treat. identified the coolant sensor fault and base idle 'out of adjustment'. I ignored the last one as I'd deliberately set the idle a litle higher than normal.
Now runs 'better', but still a bit lumpy......got hot then started hunting. plugged reader back in, n now its saying I have an air leak!... bummer!!!!
