Hi All. Have a 1999 TD5 Discovery and believe the alarm receiver has given up the ghost and no longer allows the car to open/start with the fob. Have got her started using the EKA code but obviously once stop and left have to do it again to get going again, and 5 mins watching the red LED in the rain is not fun in the wind and rain. I understand it is possible to use nanocom to make it so just using the key physically to de activate immoboliser etc. Have looked through the menu on a Nanocom (original NOT an Evo) and can not see which menu or function need to do it. Have tried a search on here and nanocom instructions but nothing i could find. Could anyone give a walk through on how to do it please? Thanks in advance....

I have a spare remote receiver and yours may not be broken could be just a bad earth, get in there and have a look!!!! My earth lead wasnt fitted from new (quite common it seems)

remote radio reciever packed in on my 2000 disco 2,same symptoms, got second hand one of ebay £15 took ten minutes to fit, take trim off the rear sunroof take sun roof switch out, theres a star head screw holding roof headlining take that out, lower headling and you will see reciever held on with 2 8mm bolts unplug and remove, mine has been fine ever since, mine failed due to condensation from leaky sunroof

Thanks for the replies guys. Been off line for few days. Strangely enough the remote has starting working again and better than before. When first bought her few years back posted a question about remote not working when has been left for number of hours and was told problem was it was going into a sleep mode. Now can park up for over a day and it will work fine. No doubt having posted this can guarantee will not work in the morning now! Thanks again for the helpful replies.
