Hi everyone!
I’m still pretty new to the D4 so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I have a 2010 D4 HSE TDV6.

Under the bonnet, I can see the Fuel Burning Heater, sitting there happily, just forward of the battery and fuse box 👍

But when I go to [Home] > [Vehicle Settings] the Timed climate option isn’t showing at all 😫

If I have an FBH installed, wouldn’t it be available through the menu, or (for whatever reason), do I need to Activate it with a Gap IID?

Thanks for reading my post!

I think some need to be enabled, does the fuel heater run when the outside temp is below 7degc and the engine is running?

To be honest, I only bought the car a few weeks ago.
I did notice a sound coming from under the hood in that area once but wasn’t sure what it was 🥴

Timed climate was an option on some spec levels, if factory enabled, there will be a diverter valve close to the FBH. You can change the CCF to enable it without fitting the diverter valve, it just doesn't get warm as quickly.

If I remember ours is greyed out too, has been talked about on here before.
We have the remote, and don't go out same time everyday in the cold mornings so not an issue.
But with the remote just point it out the window 10mins before we leave go back and finish my coffee.
Don't use it often as we are retryed and can put stuff off, But you can see the little exhaust out the bottom when it is running.

Many thanks 🙏
I’ll check that out!

Hi and thanks.
My problem is that it’s not greyed out.
It’s just not there at all!
Even though the FBH Is sitting happily in the engine bay 🥴

Sorry should have said ours is a 2011 L322 but the systems are the same, with maybe slight differences.

But a remote may be an option. What else would be needed I don't know.

Cheers,
Yes, I’ll be looking to get the remote fairly soon and configure it to the car with the Gap IID.
I’ll probably have to plug it in anyway, just to check if the FBH is actually activated 👍

If its fitted it will be working (all being well) you just don't see it doing its stuff.

L322 & L319 use the same TSD but the FBH are very different in operation, the L322 uses a switched 12V whilst the L319 uses 'W-BUS' (a proprietary Webasto protocol) If there is no option on the TSD in a L319 then the remote receiver is very unlikely to be fitted (OSR, behind the trim panel) so just getting the correct remote won't help.

Thanks for the heads up!
Just seems a little silly that they put the FBH in, but leave half the bits out to make it work as intended!

It does work as intended - the timed climate & remote are add-ons.
It's intended to (as a minimum) aid engine warm-up for emissions and smooth running, the added benefit of pre-heating the cabin either with a timer or remote comes, like all added benefits, at an added cost.
