username/nickname on a sign/sticker/reg plate

So... I'd like a way of making it known what my nickname/username is when on rally sites, off road sites, at other organised events perhaps, and thought the best way might be to have a license plate made with my nickname/username on it and hang it below the spotlight bar.

I don't want it on there all the time though, just occasionally (i.e. when I want people to know). It'd be nice if it was road legal though, so a license plate probably isn't the best approach.

A sticker in the windscreen wouldn't be ideal either because (a) it'd restrict visibility and (b) it's not removable/replacable.

So... other than printing it on a piece of paper and laminating it, any other suggestions??

Oh, and as cheap as possible, please! A license plate costs between £5 & £10, so i dont' really want it to be much more expensive. it's not worth that much to me, if you know what i mean!

i got a set off ebay when i had me personal plate made up and had buckshot at the top of the plate (just looked on me pictures file but must have deleted it :doh

I have Ratty on the bottom of my plates and a black rat emblem on each side of my plates

thanks for all the input

however, writing it on my windscreen isn't quite what i'm after & putting my name in small letters on my actual license plate isn't what i'm after either, because i'd then have to keep swapping plates when I don't want my username on there.

ideally, i'd have a plastic plate with just "fishsponge" written across it, nothing else, and not on an actual UK license plate (because that wouldn't be legal for road use)...

only if it is a 2001 on vehicle before that your uk

ok... a piece of cardboard and marker pen would work... i'll give ya that... it's just shame all the letters and all the fonts you can put on a license plate are the same size!

and G-man - are you saying that putting multiple license plates, each saying something different, on a car built before 2001 is perfectly legal?!?

anyway why can you only have 8 letters on a reg plate, if its not for road use you can have what the **** you like on it!!!!!

i have one at work with billericay written on it!

Why not just print one off on your PC onto card, and just lay it on your dash.........
