username/nickname on a sign/sticker/reg plate

Hi where I keep my caravan we have to have owner name and phone number showing so I printed them on a A4 Sheet of paper then Laminated it.

or you could A4 paper and get that clear covering from the diy stores

use a hole punch so you can put holes in to hang it or bluetak on the windows
 
Just another thread that for some reason is so simple to answer by yourself, but for some reason, someone cant think for themselves.

A sign shop...use the yellow pages, let your fingers do the walking.....and you can then have exactly what you want.....

Dont be a skinflint and try to do a cheap skate job if it makes that much difference to you that people know who you are.

if people need to know who you are and cant be bothered to remeber your name, or wright it down thay an't that interested.

or have you thought about business cards.......but then again you can give a lot of them out to loads of people that an't realy interested.
 
ok... maybe i didn't think it through too much... i wasn't after a sign so I didn't think of a sign printers... i was after a license plate, so I was searching for license plates, reg plates, registration plates etc... and everything I found and everyone I asked couldn't do it.

Had I searched a bit more, maybe i'd have found a web site that did license plates and seen the name "show plates". I'd have then known what they were called and could have searched for them.

Alternatively, had I wanted a sign, not a license plate (my brain didn't link the two for some reason), I'd have found all manner of sign printers too, of course.

Anyway, screw it - I have a solution now, and am grateful for the help! :D

Even if my brain doesn't work properly sometimes.

Thinking outside the box (that's the box labelled "license plates" in this case) is not something i'm good at when i'm shattered and haven't had anywhere near enough sleep!
 
get one of the show plates off ebay.I got mine off there.Its magnetic and sticks to the bumper.Cos its removable its "illegal" to use as a proper number plate, ergo its a show plate.However its made to all the uk standards etc, but you dont need a v5.Think it was<15 quid inc p&p.
 
Craigsplates.co.uk that where I get mine. Show plates can't be made in uk anymore so craigs are done in ireland. They not that dear either. Bloody good job too as in process of putting my private plate on rangy, so need a new rear plate. Will be legal. Front may not be though.
 
again... this isn't for road use... i'm not trying to display my username to the world to show off or make my car look gay.

I want it so people know what my username is so they can find all the photos and videos I take, which I get asked about constantly! The more people that get enjoyment from my photos & videos the better, so if they see my username on the vehicle, they won't have the hassle of asking, spending time finding out etc... they'll just know it and can go find it!

I'm buying it because it'll be useful. Not to show off or look gay!

Yes, a piece of cardboard would do just as well, but it's not weatherproof. A laminated piece of paper would do, but it's gonna flap around in the wind (rally fields do tend to be windy a lot of the time). A license plate (or laminated paper stuck to a piece of wood) is perfect. Laminated paper stuck to wood looks utter crap though, so why not a show plate?!?

Anyway, I think i've given up justifying this to you lot... for me and for the places I go, it'll be genuinely useful!

I reckon if I was gonna do something like this to identify which who I am and which vehicle is mine at meets or rallies etc., I'd probably make up one of those clip on type tags to wear on me person too, or, even just print my own tee-shirt with everything on it. The tag might look a bit official and numpty-ish and might be frowned upon by marshalls etc.

Yeah the tee-shirt would be the way to go I think. Easy to do on the computer if you have a plain tee-shirt and some of that iron on transfer paper. You could even hang it on the back (or front) of your vehicle to dry too.
 
It's not a number plagte it's a bit of yellow plastic with some lettering on.

It's only a number plate if fixed to the front of the vehicle on a public highway. and even then only if it looks like a proper numberplate.


hospitals and Companies often have number plates made up for the carpark saying director chairman doctor, consultants they don't get done for having an illegal plate on display.
 
I've often wondered why people pay so much for vanity plates. Why not just buy a plate with your name on it and stick it up there too. As mentioned above, if it isn't a number plate then it shouldn't break any rules.

flicking through ebay saw ad for bonet letters (if did say chelsea fc but can let them off). could take the current ones off and put you name on in its place?
