Hiya fellow landy lovers, my dad has just changed the tyres over on his defender and he has 4 spare tyres, they are 265/75/r16 and 8 was wandering if they would fit on my stock 200tdi, if not would a 1 inch lift be any use?? I know it's a noo ish question but they are cheap and available and saves me buying 5 new tyres at a much larger cost. Thanks for the help all

Nice one. You will probably need to go to 2" for those tyres, but think about the effect of changing the gearing on your D1. A stock 200Tdi is not an especially grunty engine and you may find it feels very underpowered with larger wheels. On the plus side with a D1 you won't need to think about ABS cable length or increasing the EGT on the TD5 engine, though you might want to think about lengthening the brake cables and checking the front prop shaft for clearance. Think about what you want the D1 for, why you need bigger tyres and as before, do a search.

Thanks for the time, I don't think I'm gonna go for those tyres, ill probably go for some 215s and a 1 inch lift, I'm mostly gonna be doing some comping but I might take it all around for some climbing trips. Again thanks for the help, you have helped me make up my mind.

I run 265's with a 2" lift
