just thought I would post this incase anyone else is having or has this issue in future. - I spent ages searching the net and found nothing of any relevance only different types of pumps.
my power steering pump on my 200tdi packed up. I could just read the number ntc9070 on the side. the only ones now available are made by britpart. - see where I may be going?
fitted to the vehicle fine but could not connect the top hydraulic hose to the thread on the banjo. lots off faffing and a visit to local LR garage who had a new pipe for me to try. This also did not fit, they believed it was from a bad batch.
cue several days of twoing and throwing between myself and part supplier. they eventually hardback from their supplier who had this to say
"So I have spoken to my suppliers and they have said every once in a while this pops up with there stock but all there stock is the same, so they have suggest the connection where the pipe fits to can be taken off. So if you take this off and put the connection from your old unit on the pipe should fit and you should be good to go."
they were correct it did screw off (with considerable effort) so new pump now has potentially a 30 year old connection fitted but it does work!
