Morning All,
I’m looking at trying to upsize the tyres on my FL 1.
Vehicle information:
2 inch lift
1.8T SAIC 200bhp engine
Uprated clutch from a different car
All new front and rear suspension and driveshafts
I want to upsize my tyres to try and get more ground clearance, I know that the spring seats are in the way and will either need to buy spacers or offset rims.
I have found a set of 0 offset rims which correct me if I’m wrong, but they’ll move the tyre over roughly 30mm as standard offset is -32.
I’m then looking at fitting 245 75 16 for a larger diameter and greater width, the question is will the tyres scrub on the chassis legs?
I don’t mind having to cut plastic and maybe fold the seams or enough cut the sill and weld a plate, I just would rather not cut in the chassis legs.
Anyone got any experience with offset rims and tyres.
