Please could someone just confirm, since googling gives me mixed responses.

currently I have a set of boost alloys, which I think have an ET+33? Along with spacers to make them fit my older axles, which effectively means they come out at about ET0.

I’m thinking about changing to steel wheels, so :
1. Like for like would be ET0?
2. I also see some ET-35 steels offered in 8x16”. Would those fit, albeit stick out an inch and a half further then the current boosts + spacers?

Tyres will be 265/75-16 BFG All Terrains.

You are correct on the ET measurements.

With a 265 width tyre, be careful if they stick out of the wheel arches, as that is illegal in the UK.

Very wide offset will offer more potential bump-steer and more potential wear on the bearings. But apart from this they can be perfectly fine to run.

As @300bhp/ton says, I run 16x8 modulars that were bought from paddocks and have a "+8mm offset" (not sure how that compares to ET figures, someone with more understanding will be along shortly!) with 265/75R16 BFG AT tyres. these sit flush with the wheel arch spat on both my '89 110 and my TD5 90. Neither have any additional spacers and have standard axles.

I have also previously run 35"x12.5x15 on 10" rims with a huge offset, these did stick out past the arches and I needed arch extensions and more importantly a new set of wheel bearing every 12 months or so.

I’m happy with it on the boosts + spacers, so if I target et0 on the steels then I guess all will be
OK.
