Hi all may sound a silly question on my recently bought freelander I've notice although there both Pirellis on the front ones a scorpion and the other is an str. Is this ok to run as I've read it can cause problems if not the same make as profiles from diff manufacturers can vary slightly but was wondering about differ t thread patterns.?

the drivetrain on a freelander is such a sensitive beast. its best to have same tyres per axle and the larger diameter / newer tyres on the rear.

Just to qualify that...

1) Its best to have all 4 matching tyres - and if 2 are newer, they should go on the back.
2) If you have 2 sets of 2, ensure larger ones are on the back, drive slowly to tyre shop (in as straighter line as possible), follow point 1.
