I currently run BFG Mud Terrain tyres, 265/75x16 however I think, for my needs these are a bit OTT. I find the sterring is more vague on them and hopeless on ice and I will probably only be doing the odd green laning. I will not sell them and probable fit to some steel rims just in case.

Therefore I am looking at something more road orientated and the Marix Panthers looks like they fit the bill. Quite a bit cheaper than BFG AT tyres but using similar tread pattern and suitable for colder temperatures.

Anyone here use Marix and if so whats your thoughts?

What size are you running? I've always been a bit dubious of retread tyres. For not much more cash you can get new Khumo or cooper rubber.

265/75x16 According to Camskill Khumo are not much less tha BFG at £130 and Cooper are about £120 whereas the Marix are £80. That's a saving of £160 a set
Had them on my last two Landys and can't fault them.
what are they like in the winter? Have you ever driven on BFG ATs?

Thanks very much for the links and certainly put a good case for getting new instead of remold. The Cooper tyres get a good review at Tyrereview.co.uk and look very much like a proper snow tyre. I wonder if they are designed for temperatures below 7deg and therefore a softer compound as one review said he had done 19,000 miles with 5mm left.

Mileage is not as important to me as I never keep a vehicle more than 10k miles :)

As yet not heard of Enduro or found any reviews

Id looked at Panther last year but managed to get a pair of Kumho kl71 for £180 pair fitted. Got some Greenway remoulds on the rear which are wearing a lot quicker than the Kumhos to be honest but its your cash.

i use marix pumas the same trad as the insa turbo saharas just insa dont do a sahara in 285 75 16 theres not much road noise and are fairley good offroad but not as agressive as the special traks

am running on toyo open country m/t,s at the moment
got them from blackcircles at£110 each fully fitted
no probs so far ,faily quiet on the road ,mpg does,nt appear to be too affected and not too bad in the wet
