I like whitewalls, but you might prefer round black ones with a hole in the middle.

Conti's hands down the best tyre period, best wet stopping over any other, ina defender yur gonna need it on tarmac.
Performs better than the frenchy michelin in the snow as well so its the hands down winner,
We run conti's on everything, however they are NOT like the budgie.....cheep.
But YGWYPF
G Grab, Bg Goodridge, and Cooper AT's good but they are really for 50/50, so you lose on stopping, road noise and fuel if you spending 75% or more on road its the Conti's ...

I had Toyo Town and Country on my Ninety for road use. I also had other sets of wheels and tyres for off road use.
The Toyos were pretty good on the road, and not noisy. At the time (2015), they were also reasonably priced.

Nexen Roadian are another one that are good value.

Thanks for all the advice - I'm going to go with the Conti's
The grabber at3s are great in Irish weather (VERY wet) and on crap roads on a RRC. Wet weather road grip is outstanding. Road noise is irrelevant due to transmission and engine/turbo noise for me. Also good on sand, rock, ice and dry meadows. I bought a set on a recommendation from a mate and will probably stick to same if they ever wear out. Bear in mind I do very few miles and have separate wheels with mud terrains for serious conditions.
