Hi all,
When I bought my TD5, the bolt holding the heat shield to the turbo had sheared resulting in the shield resting on the waste gate actuator. I fabricated a bracket coming off the mounting point on the coolant pipe which has worked quite well. Unfortunately over time this bracket has now fractured and now the heat shield is sitting on the top of the turbo. I'm wondering if I put some heat reflective tape on the bonnet liner above the turbo, I could just remove the heat shield all together. Do any of you think this would be ok long term?
