Anybody here have a tracking device fitted, or ever had experience of tracker services. Had a tracker on previous vehicle (fitted when new) but is it worth the money and subscription charge, or do people prefer hardware (steering locks, clutch locks, fluid one way valves etc..

i have a tracker on my work van, it's parked up outside the house here. acording to the fleetsmart that does live monitoring on my laptop here, it is actually doing 15mph in sthelens near knowsley rd. really useful trackers are.
a lot of cars stolen with trackers fitted still don't get recovered m8, i would stick with big feckoff visible deterents and a decent alarm.

I suppose the other prob with trackers is that the whole idea is that nobody knows its fited. It doesnt act as a deterrent at all. If somebody knew you had one fitted (ie window stickers etc) theyd just find the thing and rip it out....

ffs your van not far from me tell it to pop in for a cupper lol..:)

I prefer the idea of a mobile phone hooked to an immobiliser/fuel cut-off .. triggered by me when i call the phone. Seen a few instruction sets online but never followed 'em up yet ..

Ryder does them its his thing if his car moves in set parameters when it shouldn't move then it sends a txt and he can disable it and or stick a spike up th earse of the driver or whatever you want.

Actually its quite cleaver stuff and its not Mega bucks

There are tools out there that have blocking devices for trackers.
Save your money for the biggest baddest mechanical immobs in the land...

I know o f a break-in on a audi garage......they ripped the trackers off and nicked the cars.......im gettinng a battery isolater fitted.

Seems like the general consensus is to use **** loads of steel. Electrics can be tricked, by-passed etc. Think I'll go down the hardware route. Maybe even get a Bar Mine hidden underneath the car!
